Ah, the Red Solo Cup; the source of all nights to be remembered and mornings of agony. Chances are, you can probably relate to this. The reality is, the Red Solo Cup is just the sight of FUN. However, there is probably something that you never knew about these cups.
A Few Cool Facts:
Next time you pick up a Red Solo Cup and plan to pour an alcoholic beverage into it, notice the grooves on the cup. The first one, at the very bottom, represents that 1 ounce mark. This is usually used for hard liquor as it is the equivalent of one shot.
The second groove, about a third of the way up the cup, is the 5 ounce mark. Usually used for wine, if you want a safe way to track how much you have drank.
That third groove, about 3/4th the way up the cup, is the 12 ounce line. Which we all know is used for beer as it is equivalent to one can/bottle of beer, normally.
Then, there are a lot of grooves at the top, just for design purposes, as I’m sure you thought was the case for the three grooves below them, too. However, we all know that the only line that matters is the lip line, which is used to tell you that you have drank a little bit too much that night!
