Did you know that an email has an average of seven seconds to capture your attention? In today’s technological world, companies highly depend on email marketing because of the low cost for use and the fact that they are highly targeted. Here are a few helpful tips to help your emails get the point across and keep the reader interested.
1. Don’t junk up messages with a dozen different links.
The goal is to provide clarity. Studies show that the more options a customer has, the more likely they will get confused. The last thing we want is to lose our reader’s interest. A link here and there is perfect in keeping the reader focused.
2. Wear your customers shoes.
What are you asking the recipient to do and why should they do it? In reality, your potential customers are not looking for a reason to read the email but are looking for a reason to delete it. Entice them with an image of a promotional product or two to capture their attention.
3. You must be clear that the team or client knows the desired result of each email sent.
What is the goal and what is the best possible way to achieve it? What is the real offer? Is the goal to sell a product or induce a click? Be extremely clear in what the desired effect is of the email on the recipient.
4. Make sure the email flows in a proper sequence.
As the sequence goes: capture-convince-close. First, capture the recipient with an intriguing headline and opening sentence. Then convince the value you push and offer reasons for the reader to do business with the company in the future. Convince them WHY they should look into promotional mugs for their company or why these imprinted BIC pens write better than the leading brand. Finally, close with a clear-cut call to action that makes the possible client excited to work with you.
5. Use a common, genuine tone of voice in each email.
Email can be an intrusive process. Most of the time, the recipient has not asked to receive your specific email, so present that email as authentic and sincere as possible. Make sure that it reflects integrity and that it truly addresses a need. Cater to their specific needs. Pay close attention to detail by showing their logo on a promotional product to really show them that you care about their business.
With clarity on the purpose of each email sent, the message, and call to action, you will drastically improve email conversion rates and results!
